THE SCREAMERS arrived from Los Angeles, and it was easy to see why they are LA's fave and Devo's, too. In a whirlwind tour of CBGBS, Hurrah and a loft, they won many admirers with their oddball chord, anti-aristotelian rock sound, and their captivating vibratory theatricality. TOMATA DU PLENTY is certainly one of the most gifted frontpersons in loud music today. And in terms of being tight and twisted meaningfully, the non-guitar band of TOMMY GEAR, PAUL ROESSLER and K.K. have much to offer this sloppy, indiscreet and out to lunch planet. Catch them when they come to your town.
